VIEWPOINT: The EU's Relations with Africa, Caribbean and Pacific Beyond Brexit

Tilburg, 9 June 2015: This week the EU associated group of countries from Africa, Caribbean and Pacific (ACP) celebrate its 40th anniversary. As the EU is contemplating the potential consequences of British exit, the consideration of the future of the EU relations with the ACP should be understood in terms of the strategic positioning of Europe in the world.

Pacific-EU trade talks on hold

Brussels, 16 May 2015/ FBC/ PIFS/ ACP: Substantive negotiations for a comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement (EPA) between Pacific Island countries and the European Union are suspended, according to the Head of the EU delegation for the Pacific, Mr. Andrew Jacobs.

New ambassadors of Cabo Verde, Fiji back SIDS platform at ACP Group

Brussels 13 May 2015/ ACP: In their first official statements to fellow ambassadors from the 79-member African, Caribbean and Pacific Group of States, the top envoys from the Republics of Fiji and Cabo Verde to Brussels called for the Group’s stronger focus on issues faced by small island countries.

Brussels 30 April, 2015/ ACPEU MF/ ACP: After five years dedicated to building inclusive financial systems in African, Caribbean and Pacific countries, the ACP-EU Microfinance programme held its final event today to review results, share lessons and look at future prospects of financial inclusion.
