ACP celebrates ten years of COS-Cotton

Brussels 15 July 2014/ ACP: The European Union and its member states have provided an estimated €400 million to develop the African cotton sector from 2004 to 2014, equivalent to almost 70% of total assistance from major donors towards the sector.

Port Vila, 15 July 2014/ ACP: Priorities and directives that will guide future actions of the ACP Group on private sector development were presented to Pacific CEO’s at the 2nd EU-Pacific Business Forum, held last month in Port Vila, Vanuatu.
 

EU-Africa partnership on cotton celebrates 10th anniversary

Brussels, 26 June 2014/ ACP: The 19th meeting of the Steering and Monitoring Committee of the EU-Africa Partnership on cotton (COS-coton) will be held on 2nd July 2014, from 9.30 am at the ACP House.

It has been 10 years since the Paris Forum which was held in July 2004, brought together African cotton producing countries and Member States of the European Union and created the EU-Africa Partnership on cotton.

Drugs under spotlight at ACP Harare talks

Harare, 25 June 2014/ TH/ ACP: About 15 African member states of the African, Caribbean and Pacific Group of States (ACP) are in Harare for a three-day conference meant to strengthen availability and affordability of pharmaceutical products in the region. Working under the banner "Renewed Partnership Project", the conference seeks to deliberate on gaps and strengths in the implementation of national medicines policies, regulations and practices, improving access and use of quality assured medicines.

Brussels, 24 April 2015/ ACP: As African, Caribbean and Pacific regions step up talks conclude Economic Partnership Agreements (EPA) with the European Union, the African island nation of Seychelles is well into the implementation of its interim EPA with the EU which it signed along with Mauritius, Madagascar and Zimbabwe in 2009 and ratified in 2012.

Suva, Fiji, 10 April 2014/ FL/ PN: Fiji's Trade Minister Aiyaz Sayed-Khaiyum has called on Pacific ACP Trade Ministers to remain firm and united ahead of talks with the European Union (EU) for a comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement (EPA).

Zimbabwe cotton-to-clothing industry benefits from ACP-EU backing

Harare, 10 April 2014/ F2F/ EEAS Zim: The European Union will assist the Zimbabwean cotton industry in developing a cotton-to-clothing strategy that aims at enhancing development and competitiveness of the sector, according to a statement from the Delegation of the EU to Zimbabwe.
