Update on Negotiations

On 28th September 2018 the ACP Group of States and the EU began negotiations for a successor Agreement to the Cotonou Agreement which comes to an end in February 2020. This section contains all you need to know about the negotiations.

ACP Secretary General honoured with the Order of the Palm

Paramaribo, Suriname, 22 November 2012/ ACP: The Secretary General for the African, Caribbean and Pacific Group H.E Dr Mohamed Ibn Chambas was decorated Commander of the Order of the Palm by the President of Suriname on Thursday, in a special ceremony at the Royal Torarica Hotel.

The honour is reserved for special merits in the civilian or military area.

16 November 2012: The Secretary General of the African, Caribbean and Pacific Group of States, H.E Dr Mohamed Ibn Chambas expressed his sadness at the passing away today of former Vice President of the Republic of Ghana, Alhaji Aliu Mahama.

 

Key CTA briefing to push climate change and green growth agenda in the Pacific

Brussels, 24 october 2012/ CTA/ACP: Climate change is already disproportionally affecting the islands of the Pacific. Although islanders have done little to contribute to the causes of climate change – less than 0.03% of current global greenhouse gas emissions – they are among the first to be exposed to a range of environmental, social and economic effects.

Pacific officials meet with EU to progress EPA negotiations

Brussels, 2 October 2012/ PIFS/ACP : Senior officials and trade negotiators from the Pacific ACP (PACP) States are meeting with the European Commission (EC) this week in Brussels to progress the negotiation of their Economic Partnership Agreement (EPA) with the European Union (EU).

Istanbul, TURKEY, 17 September 2012/ IICPSD/ ACP: A high-level ACP-EC delegation from Brussels were hosted by the UNDP Istanbul International Center for Private Sector in Development (IICPSD) on 11-12 September, along with various representatives of Turkish institutions including the ministries of Foreign Affairs and Economy, the Turkish Agency for Cooperation and Coordination, TOBB, DEIK, and BUTGEM.
