On 28th September 2018 the ACP Group of States and the EU began negotiations for a successor Agreement to the Cotonou Agreement which comes to an end in February 2020. This section contains all you need to know about the negotiations.

Consultations under Article 96 of the Cotonou Agreement between the Government of Bissau and the European Union

ACP Press Release 30 March 2011: Consultations under Article 96 of the Cotonou Agreement took on Tuesday March 29th between the Government of Bissau and the European Union.
The Cotonou Agreement provides for such consultations when issues of human rights and good governance arise in a signatory country to such an extent as might warrant the cessation of aid and development cooperation.

ACP, UNIDO sign MOU to accelerate sustainable industrial development of ACP countries and regions

The African, Caribbean and Pacific (ACP) Group Secretary-General, Dr. Mohamed Ibn Chambas, has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO), with the goal to accelerate the sustainable industrial development of ACP countries and regions with the overall objective of poverty alleviation.

Liege’s bid to host World Expo 2017 top on agenda during ACP Committee of Ambassadors visit

The visit was organised by the City of Liege in partnership with the Organisation of La Francophine (OIF) in Brussels.

ACP Press Release: 22 June 2011: Members of the African, Caribbean and Pacific (ACP) Committee of Ambassadors visited the Belgian city of Liege today on the invitation of the Colleges and the city. The visit was organised by the City of Liege in partnership with the Organisation of La Francophine (OIF) in Brussels. The intention of the visit was to allow the ACP Ambassadors to visit key sites in the city and to meet with leaders of the province which is bidding to host the World Expo in 2017.

SG Meets with Presdent of CAR in Brussels

ACP Press Release – 17 June 2011 -- Secretary-General Dr. Mohamed Ibn Chambas on 17 June 2011 met with the President of Central African Republic, H.E Francois Bozize, in Brussels today during the Donors Roundtable for the Development of the Central African Republic. At the meeting Secretary-General Chambas commended the efforts undertaken by President Bozize to engage the international community and reiterated the ACP Group’s support to his country’s efforts in the process.
