Printer-friendly versionPDF version

Following the success of the 9th Summit of ACP Heads of State and Government which considered the requirements for “A Transformed ACP Committed to Multilateralism” the Secretariat of the ACP Group of States, in collaboration with the United Nations Office for South-South Cooperation (UNOSSC) will host a one-day symposium entitled “Building Alliances to Strengthen Multilateralism through South-South and Triangular Cooperation” at ACP House, Brussels on 25 February 2020.

The all-day event, which is part of the ACP Symposium Series on South-South and Triangular Cooperation, will bring together representatives of ACP Member States and regions, experts from the Secretariat, EU and United Nations representatives as well as partners from emerging countries. It will focus on:

  • Sharing experiences and taking stock of the progress made by the ACP Group and its partners in meeting the challenges to the implementation of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development Goals;
  • Identifying ways in which to turn existing and new partnerships into the building blocks of a comprehensive approach by the ACP Group, to more effectively contribute to strengthening multilateralism; and
  • Exploring ways to promote partnerships to enhance the ACP’s institutional capacities and mechanisms to scale up best practices and technology transfer for the benefit of ACP countries and regions.

All ACP Member States and regions are invited to participate in the symposium. Interested persons are requested to register by sending an email to SSTCSymposium@acp.int with their name, organization and contact information.
