On 28th September 2018 the ACP Group of States and the EU began negotiations for a successor Agreement to the Cotonou Agreement which comes to an end in February 2020. This section contains all you need to know about the negotiations.



ACP Day 2019 Celebration

Brussels, 03 June 2019/ ACP: The African, Caribbean and Pacific (ACP) Group of States will celebrate the ACP Day 2019 on Friday 7 June under the theme “The ACP Group – Deepening and Diversifying Partnerships”.
A stimulating event is to be held at the headquarters of the ACP Group of States in Brussels, with panel discussions, art and photo exhibitions, and cultural festivities featuring culinary specialties and musical performances from ACP regions.
This year, ACP Day will focus on the topic of multilateralism, with a panel discussion on “Perspectives on Partnerships: Experiences and approaches to South-South and Triangular Cooperation”. Discussions (10:00- 13:00) will include a keynote address from H.E. Gaitri Issar Kumar, Ambassador of the Republic of India in Brussels; H.E. Mr. Gonzalo Gutiérrez Reinel, Ambassador of Peru in Brussels; and H.E. Dr. Diene Keita, Minister of Cooperation and African Integration of the Republic of Guinea as Special Guest.
The cultural festivities in the afternoon (16:00-22:00) will present an avenue to celebrate and enjoy ACP cultural and gastronomic diversity including displays of culinary delights, dance and musical performances, films and literature. 
Since signing its founding document, the Georgetown Agreement, on 6 June 1975 in the Guyanese capital, the ACP Group has grown to its current membership of 79 countries, including 48 from Sub-Saharan Africa, 16 from the Caribbean and 15 from the Pacific. The intergovernmental body has established a unique cohesion and solidarity, making it a powerful platform for developing countries to make joint positions on key global development issues. To observe the anniversary, all ACP member countries are requested to fly the ACP flag on the 6 June.
