Members of the OACPS share ideas to relaunch and revitalise the tourism industry following COVID-19

Brussels, 29 September 2020/OACPS: In the context of  observing World Tourism Day and in order to share experiences related to the impact of COVID-19 on the tourism industries of Members of the Organisation of African, Caribbean and Pacific States (OACPS), the OACPS hosted a webinar on 25 September, titled "Jointly Addressing the Challenges of the Covid-19 pandemic on the tourism industry of the Members of the OACPS”.

Smallholder farmers in West Africa benefit from two new investments from the ABC Fund

Luxembourg, 22 September 2020: The Agri-Business Capital Fund (ABC Fund) has provided loans worth € 1.2 million to Anatrans, a cashew nut processor based in Burkina Faso and Maphlix Trust Ghana Limited (Maphlix), a producer and processor of tubers and vegetables.

Brussels, 21 September 2020/OACPS: September 21st is a very important date for humanity, because it has been designated the International Day of Peace. At the end of the Second World War, after having experienced humanity’s worst atrocities, we collectively banished war by creating the League of Nations, which later became the United Nations (UN). All of our actions must be aligned with this approach.

Brussels, 17 September 2020/OACPS: On behalf of the Organisation of African, Caribbean and Pacific States (OACPS), the Secretary-General, H.E. Mr. Georges Rebelo Pinto CHIKOTI, commends Jamaica for  the successful holding of General Elections on 3 September 2020. He congratulates the candidates and the people of Jamaica, for their wisdom and  commitment to peaceful and transparent elections. This laudable attitude facilitated the triumph of Jamaica’s cherished democratic principles.

Brussels, 15 September 2020/OACPS: The operationalization of the Organisation of African, Caribbean and Pacific States (OACPS) Information Centre for South-South and Triangular Cooperation, is now assured with the onboarding of the new Head, Mr. Patrice Niyongabo. Before taking up his position at the Centre in Malabo, Equatorial Guinea, Mr. Niyongabo is doing an orientation programme at the OACPS’ Brussels-based Secretariat.
